Okay, first off, I expected something better. I don't know what the emotes mean, I can't set my gender to unspecified, I don't know which threads on the forum are active so I may bump topics, there are no animated emotes, and the level icons are way too small.
Is newgrounds becoming more like a mainstream website? I guess so.
Main stream websites have advanced and surpassed NG. If Newgrounds hadn't redesign ...they'd be lost. They are a business.
You should message Tom about any real relevant concerns. The Gender thing for example

What is a mainstream website like? Which new changes make Newgrounds more like a mainstream website? I think you should explain why you think Newgrounds is becoming more like a mainstream website. Problems like small level icons and confusing emotes don't characterise mainstream websites, in my opinion. The redesign has its limitations, but don't all designs have limitations? I do prefer larger level icons, but I think the improvements really outweigh the problems. No offence intended.
The forum highlight system would probably be added later, but I'm noticing far too much good to really focus on anything outright negative. About the worst I've observed is the lack of a Page Header (which is unnecessary anyway) and the lack of the quick, drop-down menu to view more by the artist who made...whatever.
Honestly, though, the only emotes that were animated before were two. TWO measly little emotes...the one that's all beat up, and the one who's sighing. So are you really that upset that you don't have an animated face to imply you've been beaten and defeated, or that you're bored and snobbishly disappointed or annoyed? C'mon Gimmiiiick.
What's more, I don't even think there was unspecified sex in the past NG. I know there's N/A for age, which, let's get real here, means they were under 16. Who cares if you're unable to be enigmatically asexual. There's lots of girls on this site now, and there's always been tons of dudes. Pick a side, even if you're lying.
Don't really care for the designs much but it does look kickass! but I HATE the fact they remove the option to delete your submissions. Now you have to go to the moderater and ask to remove your stuff which probably takes time depending on if hes on or not...

Nah man I like it, but you know it's weird how I can't see the level icon and the aura on the main page while the auras have become like ten different auras.
