Good
I can safely say that this game is a candidate in my favorites. Although it's not bad, it's not top rank either, as I'll elaborate later:
The graphics: The graphics were wonderfully drawn, and they were simply too good, especially the character's and the enemies' art; they were very detailed, and was fit for a game like this.
The gameplay: The gameplay's not bad -- it's quite good, with it being a sidescroller / shooter hybrid; I've not seen many games like these, but at the same time, it's not really good either, since a lot is expected of these types of games; the last time I remember playing a game like this was in 2009, and that was great. But this...this doesn't have the novelty, it just simply doesn't carry forth the emotion I felt when playing that game. I forgot its name, but I know it comes from arcadebomb. Nevertheless, the gameplay's good!
The music: Well, not bad, it's very fitting indeed, even though it may be a simple loop, it is adequate and gets you in the mood to just fight those enemies. Although I generally like music, I find it very inconvenient when the music ingame interrupts with the music I play elsewhere. It's just good that I finally managed to find a "mute" button -- it's not there in the options menu -- so that's a minus, not placing the mute option where it should've been.
The animation: It was more or less fluid, and I should say, they were quite a bit CPU intensive -- my 2GHz pc just slowed down when the explosions played! However, it's quite nice, even though I find that the character continues his walk animation even when he's not moving.
All in all, a game I'd like to play.
